Rented a 150cc GPX bike (a Thai made bike I believe). Paperwork took 7-8 min, paid 2000 in deposit and rode away. Bike is very well maintained. Smooth and comfortable, even at high speed. Didn't encounter a single issue while using it. These people clearly knows what they're doing.

The staff is very kind and the scooters are cheap and great quality. They are fast and don’t try to rob your money. They didn’t make me pay for little damage on the right of the scooter when a lot of renting stores would have charged me way more than the real cost. Thank you for your kindness ;)

Rented a motorbike in Chiang Mai for a 4-day Mae Hong Son Loop trip. The bike was in very good condition, but unfortunately the battery died during the trip (probably just bad luck, hard to say – we were in the mountains). True Thai style: no problem at all. A local mechanic replaced the battery and we were refunded the cost when we returned. Apart from that, everything was great. Good experience overall.

Highly recommend Zippy Motorbikes in Chiang Mai. We booked 3 motorbikes for 1 full week to ride the Mae Hong Son loop and it went perfect. Helmets available for free. They are not the best but will legally do. Deposit = 2000baht + a copy of our passports. Thank you for the nice service! .

Rented a PCX in great condition. It was a real pleasure to ride it. I only had it for two days over the weekend, but I still highly recommend this rental place 👍🏍️

Communication via WhatsApp was friendly and professional, the deposit payment worked smoothly, and the staff member we dealt with was very nice. When one of the reserved bikes became unavailable due to an accident, the shop handled it well and helped us arrange an alternative with another rental company. Unfortunately, the condition of the bike we received was not acceptable for a long-distance rental. At handover, an oil change had to be done on the spot, which should have been completed beforehand. The rear tire was heavily worn, and during the ride several issues became apparent (noisy exhaust, rattling suspension). On the last day, the bike became unstable in corners. I stopped and discovered massive play in the rear wheel / axle — a serious safety issue. In Pai, no repair was possible, so I had to ride ~150 km back to Chiang Mai very carefully with this defect. The bike was accepted back without any real interest in the technical problem. While the staff was friendly, the bikes are clearly not well maintained. For longer trips like Pai or the Mae Hong Son Loop, I cannot recommend this rental shop. Update regarding the owner’s response – Zippy Rental Bikes In response to the statement that I received the bike in “perfect condition”: On the day of pickup, I clearly pointed out the heavily worn rear tire to both the mechanic and the receptionist. If you review your cameras, this conversation should be visible. I was told by the mechanic that it was “okay.” The receptionist acknowledged that the tire was already quite worn but said I could contact them if I had problems on the way. It was shortly before closing time, we had already paid the 2,000 THB deposit, and we planned to leave early the next morning. At that moment, there was no realistic alternative available, so I decided to take the bike. Additionally: • The bike required an oil change/top-up at handover (this was done on the spot). • The exhaust was visibly rusty with a hole and very loud. • The rear tire was clearly worn down in the center. From the first day, especially on steep uphill sections at low speed behind cars, I noticed abnormal knocking from the rear. I did not immediately connect it to a rear axle/bearing issue, but on the final days the excessive rear wheel play became obvious. The bike had nearly 50,000 km. We rode a normal paved route (Chiang Mai – Pai – Chiang Mai, approx. 700 km), no off-road riding. The mechanical issue developed during the tour; it was not caused by misuse. For these reasons, I cannot agree with the statement that the bike was in perfect condition at pickup.

Buyer Beware: Rented a bike for the weekend. Drove it straight home and parked it. Next morning go to the gas station and a body piece falls right off. Clearly had been broken previously as all internal snaps were broke off not just a few. The rear brake barely worked, front forks blown out. Ended up getting a flat tire that I had to pay for even though we were in range and in the 48 hours of coverage. Simply a dangerous scooter even for someone like myself who has been racing motorcycles since I was young. When I returned it, I explained the part fell right off and they did not care. Made me pay for the part. Said that I should have checked the bike and in the contract we are supposed to check it. I was unaware I needed to shake the body panels to see if they would fall off prior to renting. There were zero new scratches on the scooter or any other damage that would communicate it had been dropped, crashed, or somehow someway damaged in any way. To be clear I have been traveling and riding motor cycles and scooters all around the world for over 3 years now. I didn't want to waste any time so I just paid the fee after talking with the owner and left. The people who work there were great and responsive. Not their fault. If you are going to rent make sure to check the body panels and go for a long test ride before renting. To the management: please make sure your bikes are maintained and safe and if I find out someone else receives a bike with panels that were put back on after someone else broke them we will be having a longer conversation.
