Rented a Honda 150 for 6 days, Mr Phung was good to deal with. We met him at a shop in Old quarter and he then drove us to his warehouse where he had a wide range of options. The bike selection was unreal, fitted the bikes with phone chargers, extra luggage carriers aswell. We had zero problems with the bikes. Mr Phung was excellent to communicate with in English and was very responsive over WhatsApp while we were on our trip. Would highly recommend him to anyone looking at hiring or buying bikes in Vietnam.

If you want to visit the beautiful country of Vietnam by motorbike (which you should want!) I can't recommend a better place than Phung Motorbikes! I rented the 250cc Lifan and the motorcycle just performed great on the Vietnam roads. Even when I had small little mishaps, because I was riding sometimes pretty rough roads and offroad sections. I could always call Mr. Phung and rely on his expertise to get me moving again very quickly... I asked them to fit a battery hook-up to charge my phone and GPS. They gave me 2 extra inner tubes in case I had a flat, which I once did because I didn't see a pothole coming and was moving quickly. I even had a minor crash, which bended a footpeg that a local mechanic bended back. Of course I informed Mr. Phung immediately about this small little mishap. But despite this, I got refunded full deposit without issue. Also his staff are very friendly and helpful people! So if you want a good performing machine for a very good price and excellent service, no matter where you are. I couldn't recommend you any other place than Phung Motorbikes! Excellent team in the most beautiful country, full of amazingly friendly people! Thank you Phung Motorbikes! Thank you Vietnam!

I rented an automatic scooter to get around Hanoi. The scooter was in great condition and the owner was super friendly and helpful. I made a last minute change and extended the rental for two days and the owner was very accommodating. At 200k per day, a very reasonable price too. Would highly recommend.

I really recommend Phung's motorbike rental shop in Hanoi's Old Quarter, but I will at the same time explain some things so you set your expectations just right: First of all, it's a really uncomplicated shop. Be it from the initial contact, the first visit, the transaction of the rental fee and deposit, the communication during the ride as well as bringing back the bike - everything was really uncomplicated and down-to-earth. I really appreciate this! They also have a Whatsapp support contact which helps and answers you quite quickly. Also, they are not scammers, they will rightfully help you and give you back your deposit very quickly. Also, particularily in my case, I found the rental fee for the bike really fair and good. I rented a Honda XR150 in September-October 2025 for about 15 days and I had a total blast in the mountains of Northwestern Vietnam. This bike mechanically NEVER failed me, there was not a single problem with the engine or whatsoever. It drove and brought me to the most deserted place and back to Hanoi like a BAUS. But what I do have to set straight is, that on the flipside you will not receive a deluxe premium support service that you may expect in a Western country. Let me explain: In some western contries you may expect that before you get your bike, every part on the bike will be exchanged to a new one, like the tubes or tires. Here it is well possible that the tubes and tires may not be exactly new, and were a a bit worn down from the last renter or even repaired once. You should not forget, that this is normal or quite standard operating procedure in this part of Asia. Things and parts are used down until they break, and are not exchanged earlier. That's how it works in South East Asia, and is also understandable in terms of costs and the rental fee. This may eventually lead to the fact, that at least once during your trip you may have to change or fix a part on the road, prominently something minor like a tube or tire. Of course it's very simple and quick to do something like this in Vietnam (we're talking about 20 minutes or so), since there's repair shops everywhere. But just don't expect that your bike may have the newest and shiniest parts when you receive it. That being said, I am totally OK with this, and especially with the price and super quality I got. I had to change the tube and tire on my bike two times or so during these 14 days. At the second time, Phung even sent a courier who brought the super-new tire and tube from Hanoi to my place within 7 hours or so, and took over the costs for the courier and the parts. So I really appreciate that. I went to my adventure trip with the expectation, that at least one day of it will be delayed by either repairs or natural disaster or so, so my planned trip went just perfect. So my point is: If you are looking for a super-deluxe premium motorbike rental shop where all the bikes are always in a super mint condition, everything is checked super tightly and you never will even have a repair once, then you are not quite correct clientele. But if you are a young and uncomplicated adventurer, budget traveler, backpacker who is not a super tight schedule and can fit in a repair day or so - and also expects a good rental fee and super uncomplicated service - then you are in the right place! To sum it up, next time I visit Northern Vietnam I will come again to Phung. My experience was really a great one and I had a blast. Thanks a lot guys! 👍🏼
