Apex Mopeds

Called today about a moped and was given the low price of about 1k, I go and choose a color and they ring me up and the mechanic takes it to get its safety inspection in less than 10 minutes. The clerk was really nice and is knowledge and the mechanic was enthusiastic about my purchase too. Glad I went here. Very clean and well staffed, def recommend

We just bought a new moped from Apex Mopeds. Trinity went above and beyond from the moment we entered the shop. She took her time to answer all of our questions and showed us how the moped works in detail. I went back a week later because I had some questions about the accessories and the owner Danny was very helpful and even helped me to install the phone mount. Working with Apex was super easy! We bought a moped for our daughter to commute around UH and felt very comfortable throughout the process. Although it has a laid back Hawaii vibe, it was also professional and personal. They answered all of our questions honestly and had very reasonable prices. Highly recommend Apex!

Update: This is now the third moped I've purchased from Apex. Not only is the staff super friendly, but they are so quick! I got a Pronto with a kit and it usually takes from 2 to 3 hours. It was later in the day so I was thinking I might need to come back tomorrow morning... got a call under 2 hours saying that it was ready. Amazing service. As usual. Mahalo! Danny was just setting up for the day when I rolled in. Unfortunately, a shipment of prontos were way layed by Covid-19, so I got an islander instead. Very relaxed. All of registration was done on site as well which was super fast! Thanks for the great service!

I really really wanted to like this place. I bought a moped from them a year ago and was in heaven with how much more convenient everything became. Within a few months my moped was having issues starting when i left for work, I took my moped in and was told it was probably just because it's colder at night. I knew absolutely nothing about mopeds so I listened to the professionals. A few months after that, it would be a regular thing that it would idol itself down when sitting in traffic unless I was constantly giving it gas. I go to leave for work one day and my moped won't start so I push it up to the shop and get a call saying they can't find anything wrong with it despite the fact that it's having a hard time starting and idols down. I explain that I do door dash and need my moped to be able to start and not shut down, they tell me again that they can't find anything and if it happens again to just bring it back. So, I take it home, get ready to door dash and the moped won't start. I take it back up to the shop, they look at it again and tell me it's a cracked manifold. I pay them to fix it and ask if that will solve the issue. They tell me "it should". On the way home, I notice that the MPH is reading 0 the whole time. I didn't ride my moped for a week because I had family in town and we rented a car. After that week I was in the middle of a delivery and my moped wouldn't start. I end up taking my moped back to the shop and have them look at it, they tell me it's a busted head cylinder. I asked how all these parts need replacing when the moped is 11 months old and only being ridden around town. They suggested maybe I knocked it over or got in an accident. When I told them I'm not doing anything that would cause parts to be breaking this soon, they said "they didn't know". It's been a week and a half and I was in the middle of a delivery and my moped stopped running again. I got it home and went to start it this morning and it will not start. Like I said, I wanted to like them, they are really close to my apartment but they come off like they have absolutely no idea what they are looking for, how to fix it and basic customer service skills. Definitely going to be taking my moped somewhere else from now on.

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience at this shop. I called last week to get a safety inspection for a moped I’m taking over from a family member, but was told the person who does inspections wasn’t there. I called again on 5/16/25 right after work at 3pm, and the man I spoke to said he was about to leave but would wait for me to arrive so he could do the inspection. I rushed over, only to be told when I got there that he had already left—and that “it would be awhile” before he returned. I was the only customer in the shop, and despite them going ahead with the maintenance, I was later told (at around 3:40pm, even though the shop closes at 5) that he would not be coming back at all that day. To make things worse, once the maintenance was finished, no one told me what was done. No summary, no update, no report—nothing. Just pay and leave. I expect and appreciate the kind of basic communication and courtesy that car repair shops give when you get an oil change or routine maintenance, but that didn’t happen here. I understand this shop may primarily serve college students, but every customer deserves respect and clear communication. I specifically called ahead to ensure I could get what I needed done in one trip and was lied to. After this unprofessional and frankly disrespectful experience, I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.
