Lucky Owl Car Rental

Everyone I interacted with at Lucky Owl was super helpful! I was able to pick up the car from the airport which was SO convenient. Drop off was also a breeze, and I appreciated that they took us to the airport as well. Great rates and a very reliable car. I would happily use Lucky Owl again!

Needed a rental and a friend referred me to Lucky Owl. I thought they were these older dented up cars when she told me how much she paid. But to my surprise they were nice. The rental process was fast and easy. Best part was the pricing. Service was friendly and easy going

Lucky Owl had the best price and is a locally owned company, so I decided to give them a try. I knew my experience would be different than the national brands, but to what extent remained to be seen. It is located away from the airport in an industrial area, but close enough within 8 minutes give or take. They offer a shuttle service from and to the airport, so that is nice. I kept expectations to a minimum as to not be disappointed and to have an open mind. Everything went pretty smoothly, and nothing bad happened; however, they lacked a little aloha spirit when checking their customers in and out, and there is a lapse in communication/time between the employees and getting their customers on their way. Suggest more/better signage as well. Overall, I was satisfied with the rental and would try them again.

I needed a car for a day or two and I found this business in an online search. They are a little bit of a drive from where I was staying but I believe they do an airport pickup. The economy car I got was 1/2 the cost of all the other rentals. The business looks a little like a, "chop shop" when you pull in but the people were awesome and the car was exactly what I needed! It was a plain Jane, reliable, economic, car that had a couple scratches and sun damage from living its life on a tropical island.

Overall, our experience with Lucky Owl had several positives. The online booking process was very easy and straightforward, and check-in was smooth when we arrived. The gentleman who assisted us at pickup was genuinely kind and helpful, and extending our rental was quick and effortless. The car itself was older but in good condition and matched the price point well — great value for getting around the island. The main issue was the return process. The customer service at drop-off was noticeably less pleasant. We were told that sand on the floor would result in a $50 cleaning fee. Before returning the car, we had done our best to clean it — removed all trash, wiped down the seats and doors, and cleared any visible dirt or sand we could. The only remaining sand was on the floor, which feels almost unavoidable in a beach city. We also were not informed of this specific fee ahead of time. The gentleman then mentioned that we could “vacuum it out ourselves” if we wanted, which made the fee feel even more unreasonable; especially considering other rental companies do not charge this. Overall: easy booking, easy pickup, easy extension, and good value — but the return experience and unexpected cleaning fee policy are what brought this down to two stars.
