I had a very good experience with MITTA in Coyhaique. The car was in great condition and perfect for navigating the Carretera Austral. The staff was friendly and helpful. There was a mix-up with my reservation (the MITTA system did not update when I amended the reservation online even though I received a confirmation email with the correct changes) but we were able to work it out after a few emails back and forth. I would definitely rent from them again.

Excellent service (Hertz/Mitta), despite our poor Spanish and their poor English. We got a good discount by going to the office - better than the 20% Web discount.. Yet to pick up the vehicle, but no issues anticipated. ...adding to this, the vehicle was perfect for our needs and we had no problems at all with it.

They close randomly at lunchtime. As a result, we had to wait two hours for them to come back... And the woman who received the returned vehicle tried to charge us extra for a supposed dent in the fuel tank... She was supposed to inform me via WhatsApp, but I haven't heard anything and it's impossible to reach her. Luckily, by contacting the head office to complain, I didn't end up with an additional charge, but be wary of this agency; they don't seem very honest.

The worst car rental I've ever experienced. We made a reservation months ago for a large 4x4. We arrived in Balmaceda, and all the other rental car companies were open. At Mita, nobody was there; the office was closed, just a monitor displaying advertisements about their commitment and respect for their customers and their great partnership with Santander for discounts and LATAM miles. I complained, and the same Mr. Soto attended to me. He never answered the phone again and never called me back. The other rental car companies started closing, and we managed to rent a car from another company. It was a small, manual, 4x2 car. Never again, Mita.
