A great experience! We needed a car day of and nearby places were out of cars or unreachable. You don't actually need to appear in person to rent from these guys. We called the number and spoke to someone who then helped us set up everything on whatsapp. He delivered the car to our hotel less than an hour later and picked it up at the hotel at the end of the day (although they require a two day rental generally). It was an awesome, personalized, and attentive experience.

Renting a car at "MonteCarlo" was a very good choice. I needed a car for a trip to the North of Chile and back to Santiago. I am not at all sorry for NOT looking for some big rental company, because what I got at MonteCarlo was a very kind personalized treatment. Matias was throughout my trip available on WhatsApp. He was also very helpful with his advising about the dangers on the desert highway and about places to visit. Although the car was a bit aged it functioned without any problems. Also the price was comparably fair. I shall keep Matias in my memory as a good friend...

If you're looking for a reliable car rental company with reasonable prices, look no further! Matias and his team will not disappoint. I rented a Chevrolet Traverse for my family that was visiting Chile during the summer. We were a group of 6 and I wanted to make sure we'd all be comfortable on the road. Matias is an excellent communicator and answered all of my questions. He even dropped off the car and picked it up when we were done. I looked at other car rental companies and they did not match the price or quality of service that MonteCarlo offers.

Unfortunately had a terrible experience with Monte Carlo Rent a Car. This is important to share. Good prices and fast response when considering options for booking a rental car led me to choose this company. Although the service at the start (communication, drop-off, etc) was good, the problems started when we were given an older model car (2012 Nissan Versa). I have never rented car that old. The car still looked fine but had 130,000km on it. After 2 days, the car wouldn't start at a gas station due to a transmission problem. We were left stranded on a Saturday night with the only answer from the owner that he would be back Sunday night and would deal with it then, no other response for 24 hrs. We had to empty the car of all of our gear and take a taxi back to our hotel. The next evening when we met at the car (which I had to get to on my own), the owner first accused us of not using the car correctly and that we caused the problems. After a few checks, luckily the owner acknowledge that the problem was not our fault and a mechanical problem. He offered us another car the next day. Let's say that at that point we had lost confidence in the company and asked for a refund. The owner accepted but ended up charging up the full price for 2 full days of rental (for which we didn't enjoy much due to the breakdown), plus all the additional fees and determined that the gas price would amount to a consumption of 15L per 100km, which is about double the consumption of a small Nissan Versa!! Ended up being charge more than 200$US for using the card 1.5 day and dealing with a breakdown and being stranded for 24 hrs. Our experience with MonteCarlo rental car basically wrecked 3 days of our trip and caused us a lot of stress. No excuse at all, it would have made a lot of sense to received a full refund after all that happened. I would recommend to use more reputable companies that will provide you with new (2-3 years old at most) and reliable cars. You may well get a better experience than we did, but renting older cars come with some unnecessary added risk during a holiday.
