Great experience; they were very easy to work with. We communicated via WhatsApp, scheduled the pickup, and everything went smoothly. The drop procedure worked great. We cleaned the cars (we rented two) and refilled the tank to the same level it was before we rented them. The prices were fair. When driving in Medellín, Waze is a must; there are a lot of speed traps.

We prefer renting from "local rental" companies when in most other countries. Their prices are good and their cars tend to be more like the other cars on the road - not too nice, not too shabby. Our experience with Rentadora of Colombia was excellent! The communication with Juan Diego before, during and after the rental period was seamless. The car was just what we needed to get outside of Medellin to explore the beautiful towns of Antioquia. We didn't cause any damage to the car and they didn't try to accuse of any, as is sometimes the case in some countries. The location in Polbado is convenient, especially if you are picking up and dropping off while in countyry. The five starts are legit.

Amazing experience! They squeezed us in last minute to get us a car. Very honest process, no extra charges and was a great price. Highly recommend if you’re renting a car in Medellín!

UNEXPECTED EXTRA CHARGES I highly recommend to NOT rent from this company. The price per day was 120k which is acceptable even though you can find cheaper. The car condition was 85% mechanically which is also acceptable. I treated the car as if it was my own even though the roads in Colombia are not the best, and brought it back in perfect condition and a bit mud on the bottom of car due to floodings. I rented it 9.30 on Saturday and brought it back 11.40 on Monday. They asked for 3 extra hours (25000 cop each hour - most countries in the world have grace period) + 35000 for cleaning (they claim cars in Colombia have to be returned in clean with no spots of dust). After arguing I they agreed to charge me 2 hours. If you pay with card, they charge you extra 19%. They write down your card number on 3 different papers and make a copy of it. I recommend canceling your card after renting from them. Overall I did get a functioning car for 2 days but eventually paid double than I expected. When I rented with "localiza" in cartagena I had no issues at all. I was just lazy to wait in their queue, and probably there's a reason why they have a queue. I recommend going for a big company in this case and not one of the random car rental booths. My first bad experience in Colombia with feeling ripped off after 6 months and 3rd time visiting (surprising right? Actually they treat tourist well in most places unlike most of the world). Be prepared to pay extra 19% for paying with card, 35k for cleaning and 25k for every hour you're late (starting from one minute late). I personally like to prepay everything and no surprises after service. Those things were not made clear before making the reservation. If you look at the 5 star reviews, those are from reviewers that only left 1-2 reviews in Google, so they might be fake. Of course this experience doesn't ruin how much I love Colombia and I'll survive the $27 extra I paid but the feeling sucks during 1 hour, and back to normal ;) UPDATE JULY 2021: Rented with Localiza Pereira, got an upgrade for free, discount for the IVA (around 20% discount), paid by card, was not charged for cleaning even though there was a bit mud due to rain. Service was awesome. More like “unexpected discounts”
