You will be welcomed at the Djanet airport by the Buggy & Bike team and Tuareg guides; transfer to the hotel accommodation and have a briefing.
After breakfast, immediately enter the magical Sahara towards Tin Reseu where you can admire the famous painting representing the lion hunt. Tadrart is undoubtedly one of the most magical places in all of the Sahara. Enter a labyrinth of fabulous orange-yellow dunes and rocks carved and eroded by the wind with easily identifiable shapes. In addition, rock paintings and engravings make this region one of the largest rock art museums on the planet. Arrive in Sitka and accommodation will be at the camp.
Today, the direction of the labyrinths of orange dunes and the fairy chimneys is to Moul en Nagha. You are here in an authentic dreamlike landscape. A lunar, foreign, unthinkable landscape; rocky cathedrals alternating with a sea of sand. In this wonder of nature, set up camp for the night.
After breakfast, resume the expedition which today brings you to admire the absolute masterpiece of this open-air museum which is the Tassili'n Ajjer: the crying cow. The artist has thus told and stylized forever, in the rock, the dramatic scene of poor cows who went to drink at the edge of a puddle, they find it completely dry. This work can be seen as a symbol of the desertification process that started in this region thousands of years ago; spend the night in a camp accommodation.
Early departure to discover a natural jewel: the Guetta d'Essendilene, a source of water immersed in an oleander forest in bloom, surrounded by vertiginous sandstone walls. It is a kind of paradise valley. The Garden of Eden, in the heart of a circle of lunar stones in the middle of the desert. Return flight, transfer to Djanet airport for the return flight (Djanet - Algiers - France). - Please note that the program can be modified according to flight times.
You will stay in Djanet hotels on you first and last night. For nights in the camps, two-place igloo-type tents will be used, which will be provided by Buggy & Bike, with the exception of sleeping bags, cushions, and mattresses/foam. The Djanet hotel is very simple but the rooms have a private bathroom and a hot shower.
On Day 1 you will have dinner included in the price. On the rest of the days, there will be daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You will experience typical local cuisine during the raid in the desert in the bivouacs, quick lunches, water, and soft drink.
The Hoggar region is a rocky plateau that stands for distinctive isolated peaks, it remains of ancient volcanic activity; the highest is Tahat of over 2900 meters. The Tassili n'Ajjer is instead composed of a terraced plateau at the edge of the Hoggar Massif, with Spiers carved by erosion.
