Your adventure begins from Sofia, where the city’s morning bustle slowly fades as you start your ride eastward, following the curves of the mighty Balkan mountain range. With the wind in your face and the hum of the engine beneath you, the Central Balkan unfolds like a living postcard—villages nestle into the hills, and open fields whisper stories of khans, revolutionaries, and ancient Thracians. Your first major destination is as surreal as it is iconic: the Buzludzha Monument. Perched like a forgotten spacecraft atop a mountain peak, this monumental relic of Bulgaria’s communist past is unli

  2. Day 2 - The Rhodope mountain (150 kilometers / 93 miles)

After breakfast, our second day begins with a new and thrilling adventure as we leave the ancient city behind and dive straight into the mystical embrace of the Rhodope Mountains. The road starts to weave and climb almost immediately, offering breathtaking views at every turn, and the feeling that you are entering another world. A short ride brings us to the sacred grounds of Bachkovo Monastery, the second-largest monastery in Bulgaria and one of its most revered. Founded in 1083, this spiritual fortress has survived invasions, fires, and the tides of empires. As you step through its ancient g

  3. Day 3 - Reaching Greece (190 kilometers / 118 miles)

The third day of our adventure begins with the fresh scent of mountain air still clinging to our jackets and the promise of a new country on the horizon. We saddle up and continue our journey through the endless folds of the Rhodope Mountains. When we cross the border, the scenery will subtly change. We will start seeing more olive groves, more Mediterranean villages and towns. We ride through quiet backroads and hidden valleys, feeling the pulse of both nature and history with every turn of the wheels. The main goal for the day is to reach the sparkling jewel of northern Greece—Kavala, an anc

  4. Day 4 -Thessaloniki (280 kilometers / 174 miles)

After a hearty breakfast and a final glimpse of Kavala’s beautiful harbor, we rev up the engines and set off westward, riding along the glittering shoreline. The road hugs the sea, offering sweeping views of endless blue waters on one side and rolling green hills on the other. The ride feels almost effortless, a graceful dance between land and sea, as the salty breeze and the songs of cicadas accompany our journey. Before long, we reach the northern part of Halkidiki, the famous semi-island known for its fingers of land reaching into the Aegean. The relaxed rhythm of the day, the play of light

  5. Day 5 - The Ancient Macedonians and the city of Ohrid (280 kilometers / 174 miles)

This day begins with a journey deep into the echoes of ancient greatness, as we leave Thessaloniki behind and head toward the heartlands of the Ancient Macedonians. Today is dedicated to exploring the legacy of a dynasty that shaped the course of history—the house of Philip II, his queen Olympia, and their legendary son, Alexander the Great. Riding through the fertile plains of Macedonia, we arrive at the royal burial site of Philip II, father of Alexander, whose life and death left an indelible mark on the ancient world. Stepping into the tumulus at Vergina, we are transported back over two m

Before long, we cross another frontier and enter Kosovo, a land where history, resilience, and vibrant culture meet at every turn. Our destination today is the beautiful city of Prizren, often called the jewel of Kosovo. Nestled at the foot of the Sharr Mountains and straddling the banks of the Bis

  7. Day 7 - The capital of North Macedonia (150 kilometers / 93 miles)

After a hearty breakfast, we set off once more, our engines humming as we ride southward. Today, we leave Kosovo behind and re-enter North Macedonia, drawn by the call of one of the most fascinating and curious cities in the Balkans—its capital, Skopje. The road takes us through rolling hills and open valleys, the scenery shifting from rugged peaks to wide, sunlit plains as we approach this unique and lively metropolis. Arriving in Skopje feels like stepping into a dream stitched together from a thousand different inspirations. A city reborn after a devastating earthquake in 1963, Skopje today

A good mix of riding in the mountains, villages, beach side, and the plains.
