Have you ever dreamed of getting to the end of the world in a sandy and arid landscape? Well, this tour is almost like it. Punta Gallinas is the northernmost point of South America. It is a desert region with absolutely no city or gas station within a 100 km range. The only people living in the area are the native American “Wayuus.” Colombian Riders refuses all responsibilities if you don't want to go back to your country!
After checking all security equipment and motorbike basics, you will hop on your bike and head to the coastal road that goes through the Tayrona Park, where you will already witness stunning vegetation. Then: - Break at a remote waterfall near Tayrona Park - 3-hour off-road in the jungle and passing by a Kogy American native village - Break at the Don Diego river to refresh and swim - Sleep in one of the best hotels in Palomino and check the sunset at the beach
- Wake up, have breakfast, and hop on your bike - Enter the desert through the sandy back roads of the Guajira - Pass by the famous salt complex of Manaure - Have a break, fill up the tanks, and have a traditional Guajiro lunch at Uribia - Drive to your destination, Cabo de la Vela, where you will be able to take unique sunset pictures, admire kitesurfers all around, or explore more dunes with your motorbikes and guide - Sleep in a hammock on the beach at Rancho Utta
- Wake up for sunrise and have breakfast - Hop on your bike and start the drive through the incredible desert (MadMax style, with the help of a Wayuu local guide) - Reach Punta Gallinas; you will sleep at the northernmost point of South America, hours away from civilization and with an incredible view over the bay
- Wake up for sunrise and have breakfast - Head back to Cabo de la Vela if you want to chill and visit more of the surroundings; otherwise, you will go straight to Manaure and the salt fields
- Back to civilization, you will go through the amazing multi-color salt fields of Manaure for more off-road and stunning landscape - Take pictures of the flamingos - Stop and have lunch at Mayapo Beach; see the kitesurfers - Arrive at Riohacha, the capital of the Guajira region; walk to the beach and have a drink
On the last day, you will have a choice from: - Visiting more Native American villages - Visiting new waterfalls in the jungle - More off-road motorbike riding - Heading back to Santa Marta in the evening
During the tour, you will stay at various hostels arranged by Colombian Riders. Each of the hostels has hammocks and single-bed dormitories, as well as twin rooms. You may choose among those options.
Lunches and breakfasts (Colombian standard) are included in the price.
