Going down south on the Spondylus route, we’ll hit several villages and towns, most of them with their own history, gastronomic variety, and stunning beaches. The ride goes a few meters away from the coast, so there will be plenty of opportunities to delight our sight. Did you know that the route is called Spondylus due to a shell? The Spondylus shell can be found primarily on Ecuadorian coasts and its pink color was pretty valued by the tribes living here hundreds of years ago as they used it as their own currency method. The curious thing about the path this train takes is that to reach its destiny, it needs to go downhill in a back and forth motion. This is going to be the longest day of riding on our tour, as we keep going north, we’ll encounter the coloss
