Overview
Your journey begins leaving La Pampa, a vibrant area North of Quito. The engines roar to life in the valley, and your ascent begins via a cobblestone path through humming forests where roots and water drains draw your paths to the summit of Arbol Solitario. The clay offers great grip, even when mild rains happen. While you take a break, from the top, you can see man-made structures, pointing to the crossing of the equator. As the day progresses, the trail guides you to the wild beauty of the middle of the world, where you start descending as well towards Calacali. Clay turns into sand, and downhills become fun sand hills that invite you to climb them.
