Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Biarritz
Arrival of participants and hotel check-in. Visit of Biarritz. Tour briefing and welcome dinner.
Day 2: Biarritz - St Jean Pied de Port (233 kilometers / 145 miles)
To start the tour, you will ride the most beautiful roads of the Basque county on both French and Spanish sides and stop at its most beautiful villages: Ainhoa, St Jean Pied de Port, and of course Espelette and its famous pepper. You will end the day near St Jean Pied de Port on the Santiago trail.
Day 3: St Jean Pied de Port - Lourdes (162 ilometers / 100 miles)
You will take the backroads of Bearn County that follow the Santiago trail to start this day which will take you to the famous Aubisque and Soulor pass among the eight passes of the day. You will stay in the center of Lourdes where you will discover the Basilica and the cave of the Virgin.
Day 4: Lourdes - Vielha (310 kilometers / 192 miles)
You leave Lourdes for the Tourmalet pass climbing, one of the most emblematic passes of the Pyrénées, known as a Tour de France classic. You will go back to the Spanish side and visit the medieval village of Ainsa which will take you then to Vielha in the heart of the Aran valley.
Day 5: Vielha - Andorra (240 kilometers / 149 miles)
On this day, you will follow the Aran Valley until the Aneu Valley which the Bonaïgua separates passes and reaches the Aragon Province of the Pyrénées. You will arrive in the old town of Andorra, where you will be able to do some tax-free shopping if you are interested. You will stay in the Andorra Principality.
Day 6: Andorra - Vernet les Bains (219 kilometers / 136 miles)
The Orient valley that crosses the Andorra principality will take you to the Envelira pass where you will reach the french side towards the Cathares country and its famous castles like those of Montsegur and Peyrepertuse. Through the impressive gorges of Galamus, you will reach the dry plateaux of the Catalan Pyrénées and arrive in the spa resort of Vernet les Bains at the feet of the Canigou summit.
Day 7: Vernet les Bains - Roses (250 kilometers / 155 miles)
After a visit to the fortified village of Villefranche de Conflent, you will follow the Cerdagne valley which is also the track of the famous yellow train. You will then cross on the Spanish side and reach Ripoll through the Toses pass and its 40 kilometers of curves. On your way to the coast, you will discover some of the most beautiful villages of Catalunya province like Castellfollit de la Roca and Besalu. The curvy roads of the Creus peninsula will take you to the Mediterranean Sea for the last ride of the day.
