Itinerary

1. Day 1: Tbilisi - Kazbegi

   From Mototravel Tbilisi's HQ in Tbilisi, you head straight up North. Kazbegi is situated right in the middle of the Higher Caucasus mountain range. Before you get closer to Kazbegi, you pass the windy roads of the Sabaduri forest. The roads out here are ideal for getting used to the motorcycle quickly. 2. Day 2: Kazbegi - Gori

   After a delicious breakfast, there are a few optional gravel rides in this spectacular region. After the morning fun, you move Southwards. From Kazbegi you ride back over the famous Georgian Military Highway. You proceed towards Gori with a secondary road connecting Mtskheta with Gori. Gori has not been able to shake off the thick Soviet sauce it is drenched in. Not much mentionable happens in Gori were it not for the fact that one of the most infamous Georgians was born here: Joseph Stalin. For those interested, you will pay a visit to the museum later on. 3. Day 3: Gori - Racha

   It is time for Georgia’s spectacular North again. Racha: A mystical region that often is left undiscovered by many foreign tourists. Racha has been compared to Switzerland cause of its serene calmness, abundant lakes, and the impressive mountains surrounding the area. You spend the night at Temuri’s guesthouse. 4. Day 4: Racha - Ozurgeti

   You start the day by exploring Western Racha. The curvy roads through this green mountainous region are a Valhalla to ride through. Beautiful views are interchanged by beautiful gorges and views over the greater Caucasus. Afterward, you ride through Imereti and enter Guria. The latter is the smallest region of the country but is home to a lot of natural beauty and legends alike. With a quiet windy road, you ride towards Ozurgeti. 5. Day 5: Ozurgeti - Svaneti

   You head closer toward the Black Sea Shore after which you head up North. You ride towards Svaneti, a region that is known for its distinct culture and independence throughout history. Even the Soviets could never fully exert their influence out here. The region's remoteness and moreover the local aversion to authority contributed a lot to that. Svaneti still feels like a different world altogether with many local customs and pagan traditions still intact. 6. Day 6: Svaneti

   You spend another day and night in Svaneti. There is simply too much to discover out here. Ride on mountains whose peaks are the highest in Europe. 7. Day 7: Svaneti - Kutaisi

   From the high mountains of Svaneti, you ride into the low lands of the historic Colchis empire. Through the witty backroads of higher Samegrelo, you head down South. In case the weather is hot, Samagrelo offers an abundance of cold water springs and waterfalls to cool down and start riding the motorcycles freshly. Afterward, you end up in Kutaisi, Georgia’s second biggest city. You dine at Palaty, a beautiful ‘’bohemic’’ restaurant with the best local food. 8. Day 8: Kutaisi - Vardzia

   Today you ride from Kutaisi toward Vardzia. Another region that offers nature totally different from anything you have seen so far. You might feel you traveled between continents today. You have two options today, either take a 35-kilometer-long off-road pass from Sairme to Abastumani with stunning views over the biggest national park in Europe or ride the paved roads via Borjomi. 9. Day 9: Vardzia - Tbilisi

   Today, you take the small road connecting Georgia’s East and West. You ride through the hills and mountains of the south. The road you ride used to be a section of the historic Silk Road that crossed these lands. With these beautiful scenes and their many curves, you head toward Tbilisi.
