Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Guwahati

In the evening, the Tour Leader will brief you about the North East India bike ride, and you will familiarise yourself with the motorcycles that will be your companions for the journey ahead. Enjoy a fine dining experience featuring traditional Ahomi cuisine to start the adventure on a flavorful note.

  2. Day 2: Guwahati to Dimapur (280 km)

After breakfast, the day begins with a photograph alongside your bikes, a Viktorianz tradition before every ride. Roll out through the picturesque Assamese countryside along good roads, passing lush paddy fields and quaint villages. Arrive in Dimapur, the commercial hub of Nagaland, and settle in for the night.

  3. Day 3: Dimapur to Kohima (80 km)

A short ride brings you to Kohima, Nagaland’s capital and a key WW-II location. After arriving, explore the Hornbill Festival, Asia’s largest tribal festival. Witness traditional dances, music, handicrafts, and elaborate tribal attire, including colorful spears, machetes, and headgear adorned with hornbill feathers and boar’s teeth. Sample the local cuisine, from smoked meats to sticky rice, and soak in the cultural vibrancy of this tribal fanfare.

  4. Day 4: Kohima to Dimapur (120 km)

Visit the historic Kohima War Cemetery and a traditional Naga village to learn about local customs. In the afternoon, ride back to Dimapur, absorbing the scenic hills and forests along the way. Dimapur, once the ancient capital of the Kachari Kingdom, provides a glimpse into Nagaland’s history and culture.

  5. Day 5: Dimapur to Majuli (160 km + ferry)

After breakfast, ride to Jorhat, then take an open ferry across the Brahmaputra River to Majuli Island, the world’s largest freshwater river island. With its green rice fields, hyacinth meadows, and unique island culture, Majuli offers a truly immersive experience in neo-Vaishnavite traditions. Spend the evening absorbing the rhythms of this unique island life.

  6. Day 6: Majuli Island Tour (40 km)

Spend a full day exploring Majuli. Visit to sattras (monasteries), witness the creation of talking masks, and see the island’s unique pottery traditions. Majuli is also home to nearly 100 bird species and offers a serene, almost mystical landscape amidst the mighty Brahmaputra.

  7. Day 7: Majuli to Kaziranga (120 km)

Ride to Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famed for its one-horned rhinoceros. In the evening, enjoy a guided jeep safari to spot rhinos, elephants, swamp deer, and other wildlife. For photography enthusiasts, the golden light of sunset over the park provides breathtaking opportunities.

  8. Day 8: Kaziranga to Shillong (280 km)

Optionally, start the day with an elephant safari into the grasslands for close-up wildlife viewing. Then ride early towards Shillong, the “Scotland of the East,” entering the city by evening. Explore its lively streets, cafes, and colonial charm at leisure.
