You meet the Extreme Bike Tours team at a hotel in Delhi. Over dinner, you have a chance to discuss the journey ahead and get acquainted.
On the first day of the tour, you leave Delhi by bus and make your way to Chandni Midway where you pick up the bikes. At this distance from Delhi, the traffic has thinned out making the prospect of riding more appealing. You ride to Mahansar a quaint slow moving Rajasthani village full of character.
Leaving Mahansar on your first full day's ride, you head towards the town of Bikaner. Surrounded by the Thar desert and boasting a beautiful 16th-century fort and the Karni Mata Temple home to many rats!!
Out to the outpost in the desert the incredible Jaisalmer the ‘Golden City’ with its stunning fortress guarding the western side of the state. This is a living fort and wandering around it really feels like you are strolling through history.
A short ride out into the desert and a chance to stay under the stars, ride camels or test your skills on the sand.
Riding out of the desert heading to jodhpur and the incredible Mehrangarh fort that dominates the town. Blue painted houses can be seen from the fort ramparts.
Some fantastic riding today takes us to a Jain temple in the forest. Ranakpur really is an awe-inspiring sight. In a temple of such intricate carving, it would be hard not to feel entranced.
Into the Aravali hills today is probably the best riding day of the tour so far and what better place to arrive than Udaipur the Venice of the East? Stunning views from the rooftops, and palaces everywhere a real feast for the senses. One of the truly great cities of the Subcontinent.
Udaipur for a rest day and a chance to explore the bazaars and palaces and soak up the atmosphere.
The ride today takes us to Deogarh a village filled with heritage buildings with a view over the Aravali hills.
Pushkar has long been a center for travelers. The town is surrounded by desert and the lake is covered with temples and ghats. It is a very picturesque setting and also the home to the world-famous camel fair.
Jaipur is called the Pink City and is the largest city in Rajasthan. A UNESCO World Heritage site, it is littered with things to see and is a very popular place for tourists to visit, including the Hawa Mahal and the Jal Mahal. Bustling bazaars and endless shopping opportunities give it a truly Indian buzz.
The final day of the tour takes us back to Delhi. We will ride to Chandni Midway where you will be picked up for the drive into Delhi. Farewell dinner in a traditional Indian restaurant will conclude your journey through Rajasthan.
