Itinerary
Day 1: Delhi - Leh (domestic flight)
You will have a morning domestic flight from Delhi to Leh. To get this flight easily, Sand2Snow Adventure suggests that you to reach Delhi one night prior to your scheduled flight. You will be received by a Sand2Snow representative at Leh Airport and will be transferred to hotel in a private taxi. Take rest till afternoon and have an evening visit to Shanti Stupa, Leh palace, and Leh local market. Have a ride briefing session and stay for the night in hotel.
Day 2: Leh (acclimatization and local sightseeing) (140 kilometers / 87 miles)
Today you will meet your adventure ride partner the Royal Enfield motorcycle, the tour leader, and crew members. Have breakfast and have an hour session to understand the safe riding and small maintenance of your motorcycle. Today you will be visiting the beautiful confluence of Zanskar and Indus River, scenic villages of Basgo and Nimbu, Alchi Monastery, and the magnetic hill. Evening is free and stay for the night in hotel.
Day 3: Leh - Khardung La - Nubra Valley (160 kilometers / 99 miles)
Today you will be crossing the world's highest motorable mountain pass Khardung La (18380 feet). After having breakfast, ride to Khardung La. Enjoy the top view of the Himalayan Mountain peaks and continue ride to the cold desert of Nubra Valley. You will be crossing through a large statue of Buddha at Diskit and reach the Hundar village. Evening free to explore sand dunes and enjoy a double hump camel safari. Night stay at a hotel / camp.
Day 4: Nubra - Khardung La - Leh (160 kilometers / 99 miles)
Explore the villages of Hunder and Diskit and then the Panamik hot water springs, where you may take a few dips to give yourself a therapeutic sulfur water treatment. After that you will head towards Leh. Evening free at Leh and then night stay in hotel.
Day 5: Leh - Pangong Lake (170 kilometers / 106 miles)
After breakfast, ride to Pangong Lake (14,500 feet), through Changla Pass 17,350 feet. It is the third highest motorable road in the world. Arrive in Pangong, which is the highest salt water lake in the world, shared by two countries India and China. Enjoy the beauty of the lake. Overnight in camp.
Day 6: Pangong Lake - Leh (170 kilometers / 106 miles)
After breakfast, drive back to Leh on the route to visit Shey (built in 1655 on the instructions of Deldon Namgyal, in the memory of his late father, Singay Namgyal, within the palace complex. The monastery is noted for its giant copper with gilded gold statue of a seated Shakyamuni Buddha) and Thiksey Monastery. Evening free and night stay in hotel.
Day 7: Leh - New Delhi (domestic flight)
Your Leh essential motorcycle tour to Indian Himalaya comes to an end! In the morning, you will be transferred to Leh Airport to take a domestic flight to Delhi. From Delhi, you may catch respective flights for your country.
