Overview

The Desert Festival of Rajasthan ride promises to offer most of the desert, heritage, and folk of Rajasthan when Rajasthan celebrates it's greatest fair and festival in the month of February. You will be riding to Shekhawati to start with the town of heritage havelis and then later explore the desert cities - Bikaner, Jaisalmer, and Jodhpur. Witness the most colorful event on the land of scenic golden sand dunes and explore the true heritage of the desert!

Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Delhi - Mandawa

    Arrive in Delhi, the capital of India, and board into the private AC coach to be transferred to Mandawa. Shekhawati is famous for it's old town and heritage havelis. Mandawa was founded in the mid-18th century. It is dominated by an imposing fort, now a heritage hotel that is maintained in classic medieval style with modern luxuries. Mandawa is famous for forts and havelis. In the evening meet your travel partner, the Royal Enfield motorcycle and have a ride to explore Mandawa. Overnight stay at a castle or heritage haveli.

  2. Day 2: Mandawa - Bikaner (210 kilometers / 130 miles)

    Have breakfast and start riding towards the "Desert City of Rajasthan", Bikaner. It is famous for its picturesque golden sand dunes, striking red sandstone forts, stunning palaces and havelis, and certainly its camel safaris. Rao Bikaji, a Rathore prince founded Bikaner in 1488 AD by transforming the barren land Jangladesh into a striking city. Evening is free to explore around. Have a stay in a hotel.

  3. Day 3: Bikaner - Jaisalmer (350 kilometers / 217 miles)

    Have an early breakfast and start riding towards to Jaisalmer. On the way, you will see world famous place for migratory birds - Kheechan. Kheechan is a village that is a home to the famous bird demoiselle cranes. Thousands of these birds migrate from Mongolia. You will have a stop for photography and lunch at Kheechan and will continue the riding to Jaisalmer. By evening you will be reaching Jaislamer, "The Golden City”. It would be a great experience to enter in Jaisalmer in evening, when the sun shows its best of golden color. Have a comfortable stay in a hotel.

  4. Day 4: Jaisalmer Desert Festival event - Sam Sand Dunes (50 kilometers / 31 miles)

    Have breakfast and visit the World heritage site, Jaisalmer City. The name ‘Jaisalmer’ evokes utter magic and vibrancy of the desert. It’s straight out of an Arabian nights fable. Bhati Rajput ruler RawalJaisal, after whom the city finds its name, founded Jaisalmer in 1156 AD. The Jaisalmer Fort, known as ‘Sonar Quila’ or ‘the Golden Fort’, rises from the sand and merges with the golden hues of the desert ambiance. The setting sun in its most colorful shades gives it a fairy tale appearance. Join the Desert Festival events in the town. Today you will find best photo shots of Rajasthani culture

  5. Day 5: Sam Sand Dunes - Johdpur (330 kilometers / 205 miles)

    Have breakfast and start riding to Jodhpur. It will be a relaxing ride. On the way, you will find giant windmills. Reach Jodhpur and explore the city in evening. It was founded by Rao Jodha, the leader of the Rathore clan, in 1459 AD. The mammoth, imposing fortress (Mehrangarh) has a landscape dominating a rocky ridge with the eight gates leading out of fortress. JaswantThada, UmaidBhavan Palace is the rest of attractions. Have a stay in a heritage hotel.

  6. Day 6: Jodhpur - Sambhar Lake

    After breakfast start riding on village roads. En-route, see the Meera Temple at Merta. Meera was a fabled saint Princess of Merta and was one of the biggest devotee of Lord Krishna. Next stop would be the greatest inland Salt Lake of India - The Sambhar Salt Lake. It is famous for a heritage Sambhar town, Shakambari Mata Temple and world famous migratory pink flamingos. Have a comfortable stay in comfortable tents in front of infinite Sambhar Lake.

  7. Day 7: Sambhar Lake - Jaipur (100 kilometers / 62 miles)

    Today you can go for an early morning walk or safari to see pink flamingo birds, village life of Sambhar and heritage town. After breakfast, you will ride towards to Jaipur. Afternoon is free at Jaipur. In the evening, you will have a walk in the old city and will drive to see Amber Fort. Today will be the ride celebration party at a heritage restaurant on the hilltop of Nahargarh Fort. Have a comfortable stay in a hotel.

  8. Day 8: Jaipur - Delhi

    Have breakfast and board into a private AC coach to be dropped at Delhi from where you may continue journey to your countries respectively. Tour ends with cherishing memories.
