Itinerary

  1. Day 1: meeting in Rome (Roma)

    The individual arrival of all participants in Rome, one of the most beautiful cities in the world (UNESCO world heritage site) for the self-contained visit of which Italy on Motorbike recommend you to dedicate at least two days before or after the tour. You will meet up at the hotel in the afternoon. Around 18:00-19:30 you go and pick up the rental bikes (if any) and have a short but important briefing, the time to explain a few simple rules for organizing and synchronizing things, thus ensuring that everyone has a safe holiday.

  2. Day 2, 240 kilometers

    In the first part of today's tour, you’ll roam around Latium in the area of the Roman Castles (Castelli Romani) with the visit of Castelgandolfo where the Pope’s summer residence overlooks the lake. Then you will go on exploring southern Lazio where you’ll stop to admire the panorama in Rocca Massima and finally head westbound to the enchanting coast and reach the delightful little town of Sperlonga (or Gaeta) by the sea for the night.

  3. Day 3, 200 kilometers

    Just a few kilometers and you step in region Campania, acknowledged as one of the most romantic places on earth with its pizza and mandolin dinners overlooking the wonderful sea. Using enthralling bikers' roads you will explore a nice slice of the hinterland and then stop to visit the awesome Reggia di Caserta (Royal Palace of Caserta, UNESCO world heritage site) before heading for the coast and reach the extraordinary city of Naples for the night.

  4. Day 4, 160 kilometers

    A “wow” day awaits with just a few kilometers and a slow pace to allow you to enjoy every single view on this outstanding route. You’ll start your ride climbing up the Vesuvius wherefrom you will enjoy a spectacular overview on the whole Gulf of Naples and on Pompeii (UNESCO world heritage site) before spinning down to visit this extraordinary archaeological site. You then continue the tour heading for Sorrento and the amazing Amalfi coast (UNESCO world heritage site) with its breathtaking panoramas and spectacular luxury resorts, where you’ll spend the night.

  5. Day 5, 330 kilometers

    It’s time for a change of scene, as you make for Abruzzi. Leaving the sea behind you, you ride along the Apennine mountains ridge heading for the Maiella and Gran Sasso natural parks. A whole day amid the green natural parks of Abruzzi, admiring wonderful pristine landscapes along fantastic twisting roads. Forests, charming stone burgs, lakes, and gorges are yours to see. Today’s route ends in the elegant town of Sulmona, the world’s capital of sugared almonds.

  6. Day 6, 310 kilometers

    It is a full day in the green, spinning through the Abruzzi natural parks (Maiella, Gran Sasso), admiring awesome landscapes along thrilling, twisting roads. It is a pure fun and joy for riders and pillions! You’ll see a string of stunning perfectly preserved medieval villages and you could recognize the very places that were the setting for unforgettable film masterpieces set in the Middle Ages, such as Ladyhawke and The Name of the Rose. After a self-cooked barbecue for lunch on top of the highest Apennine mount (you can choose to have the famous Abruzzi mutton kebabs, for one), you’ll skirt

  7. Day 7, 200 kilometers

    The way back to Rome will be enthralling, aren’t they all? A beautiful itinerary along twisty and exhilarating bikers’ roads packed with amazing sceneries, gorges, ancient towns. Two outstanding visits will contribute to the wonder of the day: an old monastery attached on the cliff and magnificent Villa D’Este with its elegant gardens (UNESCO world heritage site). In the late afternoon, you’ll be back in Rome where you drop off the rental bikes before gaining the hotel, the same as the first night. A lavish farewell dinner is the perfect conclusion for this great adventure together.

  8. Day 8: Farewell in Rome

    You say goodbye after breakfast, leaving you free to explore further the magic of the Eternal City on your own. Italy on Motorbike is at your complete disposal to give you all the indications and tips to enjoy your visit to Rome at best and help you planning your remaining days in Italy!
