Overview

Upper Mustang is a hidden paradise of Mustang, which is formerly kingdom of lo and one of the remote and isolated regions of the Nepalese Himalayas. This tour will let you experience the way of life of true mountain people, who were not much in touch with the rest of Nepal for hundreds of years, and even until recent times had an officially recognized king.

Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

   After your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu, a City Motorbike representative will pick you up and drop you off at the selected hotel.

2. Day 2: Ride from Kathmandu to Pokhara (200 kilometers)

   You will start the upper mustang tour from Kathmandu in the early morning after breakfast at the hotel. It will take approximately 6-7 hours to ride to Pokhara. You will ride through enjoying the view of beautiful landscapes and mountain villages. Pokhara has exotic views of the Annapurna Mountain range, beautiful lakes, hills, forests, and rivers. Reach Pokhara and relax. Overnight at your hotel in Pokhara.

3. Day 3: Ride from Pokhara to Kalopani (125 kilometers)

   Starting early from Pokhara, you will ride along the bank of the Kali Gandaki River with huge waterfalls and this will be one of the longest day of ride. Ride through Beni to Kalopani which is around 104 kilometers following the paved road and the rough road begins after Beni with breathtaking views of the Himalayas in the background on a clear day. From here, the adventure journey will start. It will take you 4 days from Pokhara to upper mustang by bike. You will stay overnight at a guesthouse.

4. Day 4: Ride Kalopani to Shamar (70 kilometers, 4 hours)

   After having breakfast in Kalopani, follow the Kali Gandaki River with a Himalayan range of Annapurna, Nilgiri, and Dhaulagiri. You will travel to Shamar Valley. Explore the typical village of Kagbeni, you will proceed with permit checking and documents at the checkpoint of Kagbeni village then ride to reach Upper Mustang village.

5. Day 5: Shamar to Lo-manthang (70 kilometers, 3 to 4 hours)

   Cross rocky trails and observe Tibetan-themed houses and settlements. You will pass through Chhusang (2,950 meters), Chele, and Syanbochen, before heading to the settlement Lo-Mangthang. You will see the clusters of ancient cave dwellings high up on the dramatic rock face across the Kali Gandaki river.

6. Day 6: Visit to Chosar Caves and ride back to Kagbeni. (115 kilometers, 6 to 7 hours)

   Explore Lo-Manthang village and visit thousands of years old monasteries and the most fascinating caves at Chosar. You will see the panoramic view of Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri along with the longest mani walls of Ghami. Afterwards, ride back to Kagbeni village.

7. Day 7: Kagbeni to visit Mukinath Temple and ride to Tatopani (85 kilometers, 5 hours)

   You will visit Muktianth temple, one of religious temple in Nepal. After that, ride back to tatopani, following the Himalayan range of Annapurna, Nilgiri, and Dhaulagiri.

8. Day 8: Tatopani to Pokhara (4 hours' ride)

   Enjoy bathing at the natural hot spring in Tatopani and get back to Pokhara. You’ll pass through Nepal’s longest suspension bridge at Kusma.

9. Day 9: Pokhara (relax day)

   You will have enough time to walk around lakeside after check-in at the hotel and explore Pokhara City.

10. Day 10: Pokhara to Kathmandu (7 hours)

    Your last ride of this motorcycle tour to Upper Mustang. You leave from Pokhara to Kathmandu. You will travel through Mugling, continue riding on the same highway back to Kathmandu. Check into the hotel, and free to relax and explore around the city. 11. Day 11: Departure

    You will get free time until your flight, so you can do shopping before the drop off at the airport for the final departure.
