Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you’ll be greeted and transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu. After settling in, you'll attend a briefing on the journey ahead. In the evening, embark on a "test ride" around Kathmandu Valley, allowing you to acclimate to your motorbike and the local terrain. This evening ride offers a sneak peek into the bustling streets of Thamel, Kathmandu's vibrant district, and gears you up for the adventure ahead.
Today, you'll ride from Kathmandu to Jagat, a journey of around 127 miles, passing through scenic mountain landscapes and local villages. You'll ride along the Prithvi Highway, renowned for its winding roads and sweeping valley views. The route takes you past riverbanks, waterfalls, and the historic town of Mugling, a popular stopover for trekkers. Upon reaching Jagat, a quaint hillside settlement, you'll check into a teahouse where you can rest and enjoy the serene surroundings. The "Manang Circuit" is known for its rugged paths, so this ride will be challenging yet rewarding.
The ride from Jagat to Manang spans 40 miles, taking about 4-5 hours. You'll ascend from subtropical valleys into alpine terrain, passing through the village of Chame, which offers views of Annapurna II. Along the way, you'll encounter breathtaking mountain landscapes and the famous "Manang Valley," known for its dramatic views and monasteries. Upon arrival in Manang, you'll have the opportunity to explore its vibrant Tibetan culture, monasteries, and local markets. Manang’s high altitude marks a significant step in acclimatizing for the trek to Tilicho.
Today is a lighter day to help with acclimatization. You’ll explore Manang, renowned for its "mountain views" and culturally rich surroundings, including the Braga Monastery, one of the oldest in the region. Afterward, you’ll embark on a short 4-mile ride to Khangsar, taking about an hour. This brief journey to Khangsar, a quaint village, provides stunning views of Annapurna and Tilicho Peak, setting the stage for the trek to Tilicho Lake.
Begin the trek from Khangsar to Tilicho Base Camp, covering approximately 3.5 miles over 5-6 hours. The trail is rugged and narrow, with sections that require careful navigation, making it an "adventurous trek" popular among thrill-seekers. You’ll pass through rocky cliffs and alpine meadows, all while being surrounded by panoramic mountain vistas. As you approach Tilicho Base Camp, you'll notice the stark, dramatic terrain that characterizes the Annapurna region’s high-altitude areas.
Today is the highlight of your journey as you trek to Tilicho Lake, covering around 11 miles in 7-8 hours. At an altitude of 4,919 meters (16,138 feet), Tilicho Lake is one of the world’s highest lakes, known for its pristine turquoise waters. The trek offers unforgettable views of snow-capped peaks and glaciers, making it a prime spot for "mountain photography." After spending time at the lake, you’ll retrace your steps to Khangsar, where you'll rest and recount the incredible day’s experiences.
Today, you’ll start your descent, riding from Khangsar to Besisahar, covering 64 miles in about 6-7 hours. The journey includes winding mountain paths and steep descents, requiring a steady and cautious ride. You’ll pass back through Manang Valley, with more opportunities to enjoy its cultural landmarks and breathtaking views of the Himalayas. Arriving in Besisahar, a gateway to the Annapurna Circuit, you can relax and reflect on the past days' adventures.
The final stretch of your journey brings you back to Kathmandu, spanning around 109 miles over 7-8 hours. This route takes you along the Marsyangdi River Valley, passing through beautiful landscapes, bustling local towns, and scenic "mountain highways." Once in Kathmandu, you’ll gather with fellow travelers for a farewell dinner, celebrating the successful completion of your trek and ride to Tilicho Lake.
After breakfast, you'll have some free time before your departure. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have a final opportunity to explore or shop in Thamel. A representative will then transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport for your departure, concluding your unforgettable adventure through Nepal’s high-altitude landscapes.
You will stay two nights in a three-star hotel in Kathmandu with breakfast. All other accommodations during the tour will be in lodges / tea houses on twin sharing basis during the tour. During the trekking period, the accommodation is commonly referred to as teahouses. These are family-run basic lodges that fill the role of the restaurant, dining hall, and boarding house for tourists. First of all, the trip begins with your arrival in Nepal in Kathmandu. You can explore the city and prepare for the trek. Then, you ride across the hills and winding highway to Besisahar.
