4 Day Standard Tour Guided Motorcycle Riding Holiday in Lagares, Portugal

Since I’m getting older I wanted try it one more time. My wife and I were traveling through Portugal and I came across ‘things to do’ in Porto, Portugal. I signed up and met up with my tour guide Emmanuel. His shop is impeccably clean and in order. The bikes, newer KTM 250 2 strokes, all lined up and ready to go. All and all, I had a blast. It brought back great memories. I will definitely return home sharing my experience with my long time riding partners. Hopefully we can all get together and return and have some great laughs one more time. Also, the hotel accommodations at Casa Valxisto are breathtaking and the food is amazing.

We had the best time! The accommodation is excellent, food is also great! Everyone is helpful and friendly. Emanuel is a legend, very skilled on a bike. Extremely helpful and friendly, he runs a very fun and interesting tour. He can adjust the route to suit everyone’s skill level and is willing to teach new skills on a bike, he is also willing to push the limits which is super fun and challenging. I would recommend the tour to anyone who is keen to ride and enjoy the surroundings.

The experience was outstanding from beginning to end. -First and foremost: Emmanuel (Xscape owner and tour leader) does an amazing job. He keeps a clean/well maintained shop with great motorcycles and every item you could need before, during, or after a ride. He took care of every detail; there was nothing for me to worry about other than riding. He's an amazing rider (20 years experience) and led me through three days of really challenging and really fun riding. We were on every surface (pavement, dirt, gullies, mountainsides, water...) and (despite my beginner skills) he handled every situation gracefully. As a teacher, he knows when to be informative and when to be hands-off. Emmanuel also went way above and beyond by providing details about the area history and culture and even taking detours to see things I was curious about (a Rally race). -The countryside east of Porto is some of the most beautiful I've seen. -The moto trails were an endless mix of challenging and easy terrain (something for every skill level there). And the villages we stopped in along the way made things even more interesting! -I can't begin to describe how beautiful the accommodations were. Centuries-old buildings refurbished and maintained to modern standards located in a golden and green countryside. Staff who were kind, attentive and who plied me with (almost) more food than I could eat. I HIGHLY recommend Emmanuel and Xscape. I had an absolute blast!

First of all, Emanuel is an excellent rider. He was able to help a new enduro rider like me to do more than I ever expected I could. I started the day after a large group finished their tour, and I was fortunate enough to be the only rider in my tour. This enabled Emanuel to spend more time teaching me. I liked that all the equipment, including body armor, was supplied. Bikes were quite new and in excellent condition. We stopped at some interesting restaurants for lunch and had a multi course typical Portuguese dinner on one night that included at least four different kinds of alcohol. The accommodations were clean and well-maintained. with an excellent breakfast and dinner each day. Overall, Emanuel puts an enormous amount of effort to make guests feel welcome. I arrived as a customer and left a feeling that I had gained a friend.

In one word: PERFECT but for those who like to go into the details; here is my review. I did my fair part of traveling and touring but Emanuel doesn’t offer a tour, what you get is an experience. A FLAWLESS one. From the greeting at the airport to the goodbye… you arrive as a customer and leave as a friend. He was kind enough to offer a tour in Porto (my plane arrived early) and then we went to the “garage”, the lion’s den : A clean, neat very organised place where he keeps the highly maintained already new bikes as well as the parts and gear. There’s also a separate area where you can chill over a beer, shower after your long day and wash and dry ur clothes. Then comes the Enduro tours, WHAT A BLAST, endless roads of pure pleasure whatever your level is. The guy is very attentive and flexible. He gages ur tour based on your level and is not at all afraid to help you reach your limit and even push it with only two things in mind: your safety and your satisfaction. He goes above and beyond for you to enjoy your day. You push, rest, challenge urself, laugh, and learn. But it doesn’t end here, he makes you discover the local food, the culture, the history even goes the extra mile to make you explore. He’s into every detail, he chooses the Hotel carefully and even asks daily if everything was in order. Fills the lounge fridge and even makes sure you have enough water and snacks (offered) for the day. I highly recommend booking with him… i’m definitely visiting again!
