
From Hanoi to Ba Be Lake to Halong Bay, this motorbike tour is an easy ride that will take you to the remote areas in the northeast part of Vietnam where you will have the opportunity to experience the real life of many ethnic groups. Witness not only the extraordinary passes and the spectacular scenery of nature in the mountainous region but also eye-catching local markets.
Leaving Hanoi and breaking out of the delta plains, you will pass through endless limestone karst scenery as you travel south through “Thay Pagoda,” country, and extensive farming lands comprising a sea of paddy fields split by tree-lined roads. You will arrive in Vu Linh in the late afternoon where you will stay overnight with friends of the Dao minority in a traditional stilt house. Lunch and dinner will be provided.
You will have two options, one will take you around the very end of the Song Gam mountain range, enjoying a good ride on winding sealed mountain roads and the other will cross over the very end of the range and takes you through the untarnished rain forest on challenging rocky road. You will leave Ba Be by a fantastic mountainous road, leading you along scattering high limestone formations and heavily forested hills. Further north is Cao Bang Province, a remote area on the border with China. Cao Bang is sparsely populated. It has several ethnic communities in villages hardly affected by tourism. Cao Bang is famous for its graceful mountains, grottos, and streams. You will arrive in Quang Uyen in the late afternoon and stay overnight with a family of the Nung people. You will travel back in time and go back to Indochina by driving the famous Colonial Road Number 4 where you will pass villages like Dong Khe and That Khe. The place is well-known for its countless bloody fights during the 1950s between Viet Minh and the French Force. In the late afternoon, you will arrive in Lang So’n City and discover the central market. The market offers diverse Chinese products as Lang So’n is the trade gateway between China and Vietnam. You will ride to Ha Long Bay through the lush Red River vegetation. Your arrival at the bay pier will require a check-in registration. You will board the boat for a stunning cruise amongst towering limestone back while enjoying lunch on board. The cruise will take you by exotic islets with the shapes of a dog, incense urn, sail, and fighting cocks which are naturally formed by the process of erosion between the seawater and limestone mountains. You will return to Ha Long City and stay overnight at a hotel. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided.
A new day will wake you up with the joys and emotions of an early morning spent watching the sunrise on the sea. You will ride back to Hanoi by taking many trails going through the Red River Delta. You will arrive in Hanoi by 05:00 p.m., which marks the end of the tour. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
